The Best Thrift Stores in Amsterdam – Part 1

As I promised inThrifting Weekend in Amsterdam, with this post I start a series of posts about the best thrift market in Amsterdam! 🙂

Let’s start with the IJ-Hallen.

Once a month in the old  Amsterdam dock area, in the North, there’s the biggest flea market of the city: the IJ-Hallen.

The market is normally every second weekend of the month.

During  the spring and summer is outdoor while in fall and winter is indoor and, as you can see, the outdoor version has much more stalls.

The first time I went I couldn’t visit all of them! After 3 hours I was exhausted, but happy 🙂

If you go to the Ij-Hallen, don’t expect a lot of furniture. So far I just saw chairs and some table.

99% of the sellers, in fact, have small objects but you can find really nice stuff for sure!

As you can read in one of my Thrifting weekend in Amsterdam posts, I never come back empty-handed  😉

For sure, German vases, lamps, industrial and retro pieces as well as dishes, tea cups etc. of all the ages are guaranteed.

Are you curious about what I found so far?

Check  the Thrifting category  to see  them all!

In the Ij-Hallen webpage there are all the info about the market and the mailing list to be always updated on the calendar!
