A close Look to One of The Greatest Designer Ever: Charles Eames.

The Story of Eames Furniture: Marilyn Neuhart with John Neuhart – Interview from Gestalten on Vimeo
.

This is a short post just to say that thanks to Mid-Century Austin Living, I found this interesting short documentary about Marilyn and John Neuhart authors of [amazon_link id=”389955230X” target=”_blank” ]The Story of Eames Furniture[/amazon_link].

The book takes a close look to the work of Charles Eames, one of the greatest american designers of the XX century.

Marilyn and John worked with Eames for more then 30 years and they decided to collect their professional and personal memories about the designer in the book.

I found it really useful, there are many designers profile whom contributed significantly to the Charles and Ray work but also technical info about the products they designed and much much more; a must have for any Mid-Century fan! 😀

I personally spent  this money and I’m very happy with it…if you think it could be interesting for you as well, note that I’ll earn a teensy commission if you’ll buy the book through the link above. Thanks in advance in that case 🙂

If you want to see also some original catalogues of the Eameses works, the Eames Office published the Eames Catalogue Raisonne, a great collection of original Eames catalogues for Herman Miller: “…it will include not only individual illustrated listings of each design, but also, reproductions of all the original sales material in which these designs are featured”.

Two great sources of inspiration and a way to know more about someone who contributed significantly to the history of the Modern Mid-Century design!
